I need new shoes

Weekends mean long(er) runs for me. Not that my weekday daily routine is very different from weekends nowadays, but I will be going back to the office at some point, and keeping a regular schedule also helps with COVID morale.

I try to keep my long runs as easy as possible, although I am notoriously bad at pacing myself. This typically leads to tired legs much sooner into a long run than what I would like to, but I am getting better at it. For my 15 km run today I was lucky enough that the sky was completely overcast and temperatures nice and low (some 19 degrees C). Of course, the usual West Texas wind was still a constant companion, but without the blazing sun I felt a lot stronger. Surprisingly it rained on me for a bit (I even had to stand under a tree for a few minutes), but I guess I should get used to it since we are moving to Northeast England soon ;) I even finished strong, getting a little faster over the last 2-3 kilometers, something that usually is not the case for me!

I also reckon I need new shoes. I got the Topo Zephyr in March and so far, I only ran some 370 km in them. My feet need that extra room in the front so that my toes can expand (otherwise I am plagued with terrible blisters) and these shoes totally deliver on that front. They are very comfortable, they are light, and the stability plate in the sole is great. But they already have holes in them! This is my third pair of shoes in the last 12 months, I have been running NB before Topo but needed a change. Any suggestions are more than welcome!
